Why Matcha Green Tea May Be An Inexpensive Wonder Drink

The Japanese have supposedly used Matcha green tea for medicinal use for the last 4,000 years. It has been widely used in many Asian cultures for long term health and longevity, as well as weight loss with green tea.

Before it was ever introduced into the western world, many people knew of the green tea health benefits.

There have been many studies completed and research done that supports just how amazing green tea is to health. One research scientist has even shown that the green tea effects include its ability to stop cancerous cells from growing and spreading!

The benefits of herbal green tea come from powerful antioxidants called polyphenols, found in the tea leaves.

EGCG is a specific polyphenol that is known for being very potent and useful as an antioxident. Research and case studies on it have been well documented, and many health scientists agree on its amazing properties.

EGCG is also supposedly capable of killing cancerous cells, while not harming healthy body cells. Long term drinkers of green herbal teas have a better chance of not getting cancer at all, or prolonging their lifespan with cancer, than those who do not drink it.

Black tea and oolong tea are also made from the same family of tea leaves as green tea is, but they do not have nearly as much anti oxidant capability.

Unfortunately, this is because of the way these herbal teas are made. The leaves to make black tea and oolong tea are fermented and dried, allowing them to oxidize. At this point the leaves lose many of the polyphenols that help the body so much.

Green tea leaves, however, are steamed and dried while fresh so they do not lose their potency. This is why many consider herbal green tea to be the best tea, because of the health benefits.

How Much Matcha Green Tea Should One Drink Per Day to Get the Most Health Benefits?

Many studies have been done to answer this question, and there are many different answers.

Generally, however, more is better. Almost all studies show that at least four or five cups of herbal green tea per day is important if you want to receive all of the health benefits herbal tea can offer.

A couple studies have shown that ten cups per day is the peak of excellence for reaping health rewards.

It may be difficult to drink so many cups per day, so green tea extract can also be taken. Green tea pills, as well as green tea supplements are on the market everywhere today.

In addition to drinking several organic cups per day, these can help maintain your health all of your life. It is important to remember, though, that the benefits of green tea come to regular, long term drinkers.
