4. Prevent Hair Breaking

What many people don't know about growing long hair quickly is that you have to prevent it from splitting off. Even if your hair grows at a maximum rate, you will always have short to mid-length hair if it is constantly shattering. Here is what you can do to nip this hair problem in the bud.

Use a hair serum daily. After you shower, gently towel dry your hair and comb through with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Don't use a hairbrush on wet hair as this will lead to hair breakage!

Then, pour a nickel sized amount of hair serum in your hand and worth through all of your hair, starting at the tips and working upwards. Use as much as you need to coat all of it, without using so much that it looks greasy.

Secondly, use good hair conditioners on a daily basis to moisturize and protect. You can even go a step further and use a hair mask or deep conditioner once per week to reach the fullest effect!

5. Trim Hair Wisely For the Ultimate Growth

Unfortunately, many people who are trying to grow hair faster think that by not trimming regularly, they are saving their length. Wrong.

For ultimate length, you should practice having your hair trimmed 1/8" every two months. This will stop split ends in their tracks while still giving you the benefit of the length you grew over each two month period.

6. How to Grow Long Hair: Stop Smoking!

Need I really say more? Not only will smoking end your life much sooner that it should, your hair is one of the many parts of the body that will suffer.

Smoking causes hair loss, thinning, dull hair, the frizzies, and a nasty stench all around you. Do your body a favor and stop smoking immediately.

7. How to Grow Long Hair: Avoid Alcohol

You may not want to hear this either, but regular alcohol consumption slows down your body's efficency and reduces the quality and quantity of hair you have. You won't grow gorgeous princess locks on an unhealthy diet, so make your decisions now.

8. Ditch the Dye

As you may have guessed, hair dye contains harmful chemicals that penetrate both the shaft of your hairs and your scalp and follicles themselves.

Bad chemicals certainly don't promote growth and longevity, so plan on going natural and beautiful right away!
