Scabies causes can include poor hygiene in an infested environment, close contact with an object such as bedsheets that are infested, and even physical contact with a person who has them. These parasites are often transmitted through sexual contact as well.

Treatment for Scabies

If you believe you have a rash caused by this parasitic mite, your doctor can confirm and prescribe you a cream that will kill the mites and help heal the skin. This is usually the best method to try because it is very effective and harmless to you.

Another option is doctor-prescribed Ivermectin. Ivermectin is a powerful drug that is used in animals and humans to treat a variety of parasites within the body. While this treatment is just as effective as prescribed creams, it can also be toxic if taken improperly.

Generally, you're best bet is to use a cream first before Ivermectin because of its toxicity.
