Homemade Hair Conditioner

Olive Oil for Hair

The best homemade hair conditioner recipes for a variety of hair types! Try this tropical natural hair conditioner recipe and learn about other homemade hair products you can make organically at home. Better than brand name Aussie hair conditioner!

Many people choose to make their own homemade hair conditioners for a variety of reasons. Conditioners can be pretty expensive in stores for any brand that works reasonably well, and that cost can really add up over a year. Some people begin making it for themselves because of allergy needs. If you have allergies, it can be difficult to find a suitable hypoallergenic shampoo. It can also be nearly impossible to find an affordable one too.

Natural hair conditioner is the best type you can use on your hair, because it doesn’t have chemicals that damage the scalp or dry out your strands. Especially if you have sensitive skin, natural and organic would most likely be a great option to experiment with.

The key to creating good homemade hair conditioners is to realize what works for you. If you have oily hair you will want to create a lighter product, while if you have dry locks you will want to add a variety of oils to your conditioner to get the best results.

The Tropical Conditioner

  • Coconut milk
  • Olive oil
  • Baby Oil
  • Aloe Vera
  • An essential oil of choice

Mix two cups coconut milk with ½ cup olive oil, 1/8 cup baby oil, ½ cup aloe vera gel, and enough drops of essential oil to suit your smell. Mix these together well and test the texture. If the conditioner isn’t thick enough, consider whipping in one or two egg whites for protein and thickness. Be sure to refrigerate this formula!

A Natural Dry Hair Conditioner

  • Vitamin E oil
  • Jojoba oil
  • Olive oil
  • Avocado
  • Honey

Blend one cup honey with half of an avocado until the mixture is smooth. Then add in ¼ cup each olive oil and jojoba oil. Mix in one teaspoon or six capsules of Vitamin E oil. Add milk if the mixture is too thick, or egg white if it is too thin. This olive oil hair conditioner is great for dry or brittle strands that needs moisture.

Practice mixing in a variety of ingredients to your homemade hair conditioner to get the best results for your hair type.
