Healing Herbs and Alternative Medicine

Natural healing herbs, such as the sage herb and rosemary herb, have long been used for alternative medicines and treatments.

Many people have indoor herb gardens and learn how to dry herbs themselves to save money and have the freshest plant material to use for cooking or medicine.

Growing Herbs

It's healthier than prescription drugs and far cheaper than a doctor's visit...

Healing herbs are Mother Nature's way of helping and healing naturally. Many past tribes and nations of people used medicinal herbs and natural herbal remedies as part of life before standard medicines were ever even available.

Healing Herbs

From Native American tribes to New England Puritans to the ancient Egyptians and Aztecs, herbal home remedies have helped many people throughout the times.

Thousands of potent healing herbs grow throughout the world today. Almost all minor health and beauty problems out there have a number of herbs that can help.

And while many plants out there really don't provide much use in the medicine world, some wild growing herbs are extremely potent and useful. The possibilities are endless for the natural healing many of these plants are capable of giving.

Herbs for Healing

Saint John's Wort

Most medicinal herbs have more than one use. Saint John's Wort, for example, is used on the outside of your body for things like sunburn, bruises, and cuts.

Internally, however, many people have found healing remedies for depression and stress with Saint Johns Wort. It is estimated that about 8 million people throughout America use this herb to beat the blues and feel less tension.

Hoodia Gordonii

A cactus plant that grows wild in the south Kalahari desert, hoodia gordonii became very popular when the western world discovered its amazing potential for weight loss.

Grafixar

A compound in the plant is responsible for triggering a chemical in your brain that tells you that you are "full", and don't need to eat anymore.

This makes the plant a handy appetite suppressant for those trying to lose weight without feeling hungry and deprived.

Now that it has been widely commercialized, a variety of hoodia pills and hoodia extract have been put on the market for consumers. Over all, it seems to have received an enthusiastic response from the majority of people who have used it.

I have used it myself on occasion for the pesky extra 5 or 10 pounds that constantly creep up. Although a bit on the expensive side, I have recommended it to others because of its zero side effects and effective appetite suppressing qualities.
