So how can I go about removing blackheads without damaging my skin?

Beware the mask that is clear and peels off looking like dead skin. The best masks are those that have a base made from clay, often mixed with avocado for best results.
Clay gently and naturally absorbs impurities from your pores, bringing them to the surface. So for those deep-down black pores, give yourself a face mask once or twice per week and allow a few weeks for them to completely disappear.
Because the mask brings acne-causing bacteria from deep in your pores closer to the surface, it's likely that you will have a breakout here and there the day after using the mask.
